Since I started to run focused on defined event, at a specific date, planning my training sessions I became more goal driven and it also started to benefit my professional side. It's been much easier to study and work on hard problems and my focus also increased. I concluded that adding some "self competition" is a really good thing to do for yourself.

This is so true "An unhealthy person wants only one thing: to be healthy.". I wish I had read this post before and had done more physical exercises. I am 32 years old with a huge amount of cervical and coccyx problems, and my motivation to sit in a chair and code just last 3h, then I start feeling pain and discomfort. I left my previous job in January to take care of my health, and I feel like the worst developer right now. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to be productive and have the motivation I had with 20 years old. I have been doing physical exercises, stretching, physical therapy and more stops every 50min now, but it seems to be too late and it has been a long trip to get healthier 🤕
